  8. 30 The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?” “No,” he

2 Moše 3:2

There the angel of the L-RD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.

  1. 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”
  2. 4 When the L-RD saw that he had gone over to look, G-d called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”
  3. 5 “Do not come any closer,” G-d said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”
  4. 6 Then he said, “I am the G-d of your father, the G-d of Abraham, the G-d of Isaac and the G-d of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at

book of Judges 6 CHAPTER

The angel of the L-RD came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites.

  1. 12 When the angel of the L-RD appeared to Gideon, he said, “The L-RD is with you, mighty warrior.”
  2. 13 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the L-RD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the L-RD bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the L-RD has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”
  3. 14 The L-RD turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”
  4. 15 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”
  5. 16 The L-RD answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”
  6. 17 Gideon replied, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to

18Please do not go away until I come back and bring my offering and set it before you.” And the L-RD said, “I will wait until you return.”

  1. 19 Gideon went inside, prepared a young goat, and from anof flour he made bread without yeast. Putting the meat in a basket and its broth in a pot, he brought them out and offered them to him under the oak.
  2. 20 The angel of G-d said to him, “Take the meat and the unleavened bread, place them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” And Gideon did
  3. 21 Then the angel of the L-RD touched the meat and the unleavened bread with the tip of the staff that was in his hand. Fire flared from the rock, consuming the meat and the bread. And the angel of the L-RD

I have seen the angel of the L-RD face to face!”

  1. 23 But the L-RD said to him, “Peace! Do not be afraid. You are not going to die.”
  2. 24 So Gideon built an altar to the L-RD there and called itL-RD Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites

BOOK OF JUDGES 13CHAPTER

The angel of the L-RD appeared to her and said, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son.

  1. 4 Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything
  2. 5 You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”
  3. 6 Then the woman went to her husband and told him, “A man of G-d came to me. He looked like an angel of G-d, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he came from, and he didn’t tell me his
  4. 7 But he said to me, ‘You will become pregnant and have a son. Now then, drink no wine or other fermented drink and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite of G-d from the womb until the day of his death.’ ”

8Then Manoah prayed to the L-RD: “Pardon your servant, L-rd. I beg you to let the man of G-d you sent to us come again to teach us how to bring up the boy who is to be born.”

  1. 9 G-d heard Manoah, and the angel of G-d came again to the woman while she was out in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with
  2. 10 The woman hurried to tell her husband, “He’s here! The man who appeared to me the other day!”
  3. 11 Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he came to the man, he said, “Are you the man who talked to my wife?” “I am,” he

12So Manoah asked him, “When your words are fulfilled, what is to be the rule that governs the boy’s life and work?”

  1. 13 The angel of the L-RD answered, “Your wife must do all that I have told
  2. 14 She must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, nor drink any wine or other fermented drink nor eat anything unclean. She must do everything I have commanded her.”
  3. 15 Manoah said to the angel of the L-RD, “We would like you to stay until we prepare a young goat for you.”
  4. 16 The angel of the L-RD replied, “Even though you detain me, I will not eat any of your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the L-RD.” (Manoah did not realize that it was the angel of the L-RD.)
  5. 17 Then Manoah inquired of the angel of the L-RD, “What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes true?”
  6. 18 He replied, “Why do you ask my name? It is beyond”
  7. 19 Then Manoah took a young goat, together with the grain offering, and sacrificed it on a rock to the L-RD. And the L-RD did an amazing thing while Manoah and his wife watched:
  8. 20 As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the L-RD ascended in the flame. Seeing this, Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground.
  9. 21 When the angel of the L-RD did not show himself again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it was the angel of the L-
  10. 22 “We are doomed to die!” he said to his wife. “We have seen God!”
  11. 23 But his wife answered, “If the L-RD had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and grain offering from our hands, nor shown us all these things or now told us this.”
  12. 24 The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the L-RD blessed him,

25and the Spirit of the L-RD began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
